The process of construction of the started when Dr. Kishore Raj Pradhan, a world-renowned Refractive Surgeon and Cataract Specialist from Nepal, decided he wanted to open a clinic in Birgun. His vision was to help reduce the unnecessary blindness caused by cataracts. He supervised the project from the initial stages of selecting and refurbishing the clinic. Dr. Pradhan is the director of the Matrika Eye Foundation. He performs cataract surgeries every week whilst coordinating local eye camps to discover patients who are in need of cataract surgery.
